Punks Jump Up came together in London as a mere accident a few years back. Joe, a born & bred Londoner & David, a Swede just off the boat, had bumped into each other on several occasions, mainly occasions that had to do with music, style & anything visual that looked cool. They both come from a background of punk & dance music, street art, fashion & style all wrapped up in DIY ethos.

Punks Jump Up have always been into making music with a rough edge but with a good hook. PJU love the underground, cutting edge DIY scene but has never shied away from a good melody. They have proven this by remixing acts like Miike Snow (The PJU remix of their song Animal has now got more than one million plays on Youtube), Gossip, Crystal Castles, Lykke Li, Kele, Robyn, Tiga, Yelle, Peter Bjorn & John & now latest Ladytron and all turning their songs into very distinctive dance floor gems.

Blockhead was played all through the summer -10 by 2ManyDJ's as a part of their Under The Covers tour, with the distinctive animations that accompanied each track.

Punks Jump Up's constant traveling and gigging has made them a lot of friends and this shows well on the production of the forthcoming PJU album, it will feature guest appearances by artists like Chromeo, DVNO (of Justice DVNO fame), Black Kids, We Have Band & Men (ex Le Tigre).

2011 looks like to be a very promising year for PJU, first up the release of Blockhead EP at the end of january followed by a string of single releases, an album and then a live show.

Gennaro Gimmelli was born in the '90, by the marriage between Moira Orfei and George Weah. Since he was a child instead of listening to his dad's vinyls, house music or playing with old dishes thrown in the garage, he used to play Football Manager, easy. In the '07 through the meeting with a school mate with the same passion, he set up the Herdsmans Cratch duo, now split up to take different ways. The music he prefers is a mix between paprika 90's and space mozzarella, actually not a kind of music, but his music sounds spicy, but not too soft, and as juicy as the dairy . He loves Basement Jaxx, The Neptunes, Armand Van Helden, Fare Soldi and the Portoguse current(Moullinex, Xinobi, Rockets...), Sabrina Salerno and above all Scuola Furano. Thanks to WOZZUP's guys, MADE IN NAPLES, he shared the stage with artist that he would never have imagined to play with, even in his best wet dream. Bringing some really needed fresh air to Vienna’s club scene DJ/producer/promoter crew Pola-Riot has established one of the most unique club nights in town hosting up-and-coming hotshot producers like Crookers, The Bloody Beetroots, Fake Blood, Yuksek, Foamo, Congorock, Mustard Pimp or Felix Cartal. Pola-Riot themselves are known for their explosive DJ sets, blending electro, distortion disco and fidget house, destined to make crowds freak out big time, e. g. the ones at Austria’s biggest open air festival Frequency (twice; alongside MSTRKRFT, Boys Noize and Diplo) or at the Levi’s Unbuttoned Tour (alongside Busy P and AutoKratz). Their own productions contain remixes for fellow countrymen like Bunny Lake (of their Amadeus Award nominated song "Into The Future") and Beta Bow (of "Second Streets Have No Name", being later re-remixed by The Bloody Beetroots for their first album) as well as a bootleg of Stardust's French house evergreen "Music Sounds Better With You" that reached top position on the HypeM charts.Their track "Superpimpin" got consecutive airplay on Kissy Sell Out's Radio 1 show, which earned them a signing on Tommie Sunshine’s new label Brooklyn Fire. Two guys from Tyrol, Austria, which started DJing and producing in two different projects. One of them is a member of Cordial Choice and the other one is a producer who is called Dead Battery. In March 2011 they founded a new dj & producer duo called ÑFour to the Floorì. Together they mix their different styles of music, mixing and producing to complete each other and to fascinate the audience with their DJ-sets and their own tracks.
